Your EPK will be reviewed in tandem with every application you submit by a booking agent or promoter who posted a gig to our site.
Booking agents will have a direct link to your EPK, so having a well thought out and put together electronic press kit (EPK) exclusively on Sonicbids plays a vital role in landing you gigs. Within a couple of minutes, a booking agent can decide whether or not you're the right fit for them. First impressions will play a large impact when making a final decision to book you.
Understand The Promoter’s Perspective
Promoters prefer using Sonicbids since it allows them to discover new talent while simplifying their workflow with tools dedicated to them.
Applications they receive directly link them to your EPK for further review. The main consideration they'll want upfront is the material you included to your EPK. Promoters listen to a lot of music every day and will generally have a good feel for your songs in the first 30-90 seconds. Making it a priority to include your best material up top and/or most up-to-date material on your EPK will be a critical path to consider. (Don't know how to rank your songs? Turn to your fan feedback, purchase history or production quality to help you decide.)
If your songs pass the test, your videos come next. An example of a bad video deals with poor audio quality or lighting, a shaky hand or your bandmate's head in the way of the camera. You get the picture. Be diligent when choosing videos you want to share. It is strongly recommended to back up your recordings with a great live performance or studio session to show you actually performing or honing your craft.
Booking artists is a difficult task for anyone since there's amazing talent all around us, at all times. Promoters will have their own rating system to help with fairness, weighing each element of your EPK respectively and letting those scores guide them to make a decision.
